Jason Mitchell
1930 Ford Tudor
Jason Mitchell first started working on this Hot Rod in 1989 when he and his family purchased it from a local antique dealer. He was 16 at the time and didn't know a thing about Hot Rods. The body work was done in his parents 12 x 18 garage by his brother, a friend, and himself. Jason's father spent a lot of time helping by doing the wood work, sandblasting, and a ton of other things. When Jason's brother joined the service, it was up to him and his father to finish the job. They enlisted the help of their friend Pete Schmid. Jason said " I spent many long nights in Pete's garage working on our Rod, learning from him." They mounted the running gear, steering, and tank along with some other things. The Rod has a Littlefield Blown 455 Pontiac, Turbo 400 trans, Ford 9" rear with disk brakes, a 4" chop, TCI frame, 5" drop axle, a bitchen firewall, tilt, and custom headers build by Pete and himself.
Jason wanted to give a special thanks to his father for getting him into the hobby.
"Dad, without you I would have never received this award, so really it's yours"
Albany Rods and Kustoms would like to thank Jason for sharing his Hot Rod with us and we would like to congratulate him on being the 2007 Adirondack Nationals Senior Winner.
